Job Overview

This independent contract role is about making an impact on people’s lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Civil Supervisory Engineer / Team Lead in Pickering or Mississauga, Ontario (remote work will also be considered), you will be part of the proven team in the Installed Base Business Unit. Your work will include:

Provide technical leadership and execute detailed design engineering change packages for the boiler replacement project at Pickering nuclear generating station.

Liaise with client and partners to ensure solutions identified meet underlying needs.

Supervise and mentor the Steam Generating Team (SGT Canada) Civil Design Team in solving unique problems that support production of clean safe reliable power in Ontario

Provide knowledge and oversight for engineering deliverables to support plant lifetime operations including design, construction, testing, commissioning, plant operations, promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team

Core Engineering focus areas:

Reinforced Concrete Containment Opening

Heavy Lifting and Rigging

Structural Steel Design

Familiarity with/Knowledge of our client’s systems, processes, and procedures

Qualifications

Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline

At least 8 years of related experience

A Professional Engineering License (P. Eng.) in required

Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.

Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, management and customers as required.

Demonstrated leadership ability to manage multiple tasks and projects through subordinates.

Strong analytical ability and problem identification/problem resolution skills.

Advanced level of specific software tools (CAD, FEA, CFD) and programming skills.
