Job Overview

The Senior Software Engineer Developer leads software application development, mentoring developers, and translating business needs into technical solutions. It focuses on improving system quality through coding standards and peer reviews, promoting engineering excellence, and refining development workflows with DevOps and automation. The position also drives continuous improvement and supports strategic goals to enhance organizational agility and innovation.

JOB DUTIES

  • Achieve Timely and High-Quality Software Delivery: Lead the development of software applications to ensure on-time delivery of features that meet quality standards, directly enhancing customer satisfaction and business performance.
  • Elevate Team Technical Proficiency: Mentor and guide developers to enhance their technical skills, resulting in a more capable and innovative development team.
  • Align Technical Solutions with Business Objectives: Collaborate with product and design teams to create technical solutions that effectively address business needs, improving the alignment between technology and organizational goals.
  • Ensure High-Quality and Consistent Code: Enforce coding standards and conduct peer reviews to maintain high-quality and consistent code, reducing errors and improving system reliability.
  • Foster Engineering Excellence: Develop and enforce software development practices that promote engineering excellence, leading to more efficient and effective development processes.
  • Enhance Workflow Efficiency: Implement and refine DevOps, automation, and CI/CD processes to streamline development workflows, reducing time-to-market and increasing operational efficiency.
  • Drive Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to identify and implement opportunities for innovation and optimization, keeping the organization competitive and responsive to change.
  • Support Strategic Agility: Undertake additional responsibilities that align with strategic goals, enhancing the organization’s ability to quickly adapt to new challenges and opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate with stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, gather requirements, and ensure alignment with business goals
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the development process and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring project stability and success.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA teams to develop and execute testing plans, ensuring software meets quality standards before release.
  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for software applications, facilitating knowledge sharing and future maintenance
  • Primarily hands-on coding and participating and contributing to technical design and mentoring junior developers – 70% Hands-on , 30%- Lead/architecture contribution
  • Requires experience with React, .Net, Azure, C#
  • Knowledge and able to contribute to DevOps/CI/CD responsibilities.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

This role requires knowledge in architectural design, and high-level system implementation. This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired either through the successful completion of a four-year university education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or by having the equivalent level of education.

EXPERIENCE

Role requires relevant experience in software development.

Expertise in designing scalable, high-performance software systems.

Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architecture.

Proven ability to mentor and guide other engineers.

Requires experience with React, .Net, Azure, C#

Experience managing project timelines and deliverables.

A period of over 6 years and up to and including 8 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
