Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced SOP Specialist to lead the development, improvement, and ongoing management of our company’s standard operating procedures. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator (both written and verbal), skilled at gathering business requirements, and adept at translating complex processes into clear, actionable documentation. You will play a key role in establishing a best-in-class SOP framework, ensuring procedures are accurate, accessible, and up-to-date.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather business requirements and process details.
  • Review, assess, and improve existing SOPs for clarity, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  • Develop, document, and implement a comprehensive SOP framework and templates tailored to organizational needs.
  • Create new SOPs as needed, ensuring consistency, completeness, and compliance with best practices.
  • Define and implement a process for regular review, updating, and version control of SOPs.
  • Facilitate workshops and interviews with subject matter experts to capture detailed process information.
  • Train staff on SOP usage and importance, and provide guidance on process documentation.
  • Stay current on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to process documentation and SOP management.
  • Ensure SOPs are easily accessible and understandable to all relevant staff.
  • Track and report on SOP compliance and adoption metrics.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience writing and managing standard operating procedures in a business or technical environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to analyze business processes and translate them into clear, actionable documentation.
  • Experience developing documentation frameworks, templates, and governance processes.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, interviews, and workshops with cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience with documentation management systems or knowledge bases is a plus.
  • Process improvement or quality management certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, ISO) are a plus.
