Job Overview

Project Controls & Governance

  • Implement and maintain project controls frameworks:
  • Develop and maintain project schedules (Gantt, critical path)
  • Create cost control structures (cost breakdowns, budgets, forecasting, Earned Value Management)
  • Establish scope-control processes, change-control boards and approval workflows as required
  • Monitor and report on performance against baselines, identify variances, and drive corrective actions

Project Management Lifecycle

  • Good understanding of standard phase-gate processes across Initiation, Definition, Execution and Close-out
  • Lead development of Business Case Submissions, Project Charters and gate-package deliverables
  • Prepare Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), detailed estimates, risk registers, communications plans and PM plans

Contract Management

  • Manage full life-cycle of contracts: RFP preparation, bid evaluation, negotiations, award and administration
  • Develop and enforce contract performance specifications, change orders, claim management and close-out
  • Ensure vendor compliance with schedules, quality, safety and payment terms

Performance Measurement & Scorecards

  • Design and maintain project scorecards and dashboards that track KPIs such as:
  • Schedule performance index (SPI) and cost performance index (CPI)
  • Milestone attainment, change order metrics, risk mitigation status
  • Quality, safety and environmental compliance metrics
  • Produce weekly/monthly performance reports for senior management and the Board

Risk & Change Management

  • Facilitate risk-identification workshops, quantify risks, and maintain a risk register with mitigation plans

Stakeholder & Communication Management

  • Lead and participate in regular project-status reviews with internal/external stakeholders, regulatory bodies and agencies
  • Prepare and chair pre- and post-award coordination meetings with designers, suppliers, contractors, and field teams as required
  • Ensure clear, timely communication of scope, schedule, cost and contractual obligations

Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related discipline
  • Post-graduate certificate or coursework in Project Management, Project Controls or Business Economics preferred
  • PMI-PMP, AACE CCP or similar certifications preferred

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 6–8 years’ experience in large, multi-contract industrial projects (power generation or heavy industry)
  • Proven track record in:
  • Project Controls (EVM, cost forecasting, schedule management)
  • Contract lifecycle management (RFPs, negotiations, claims)
  • Development and reporting of project scorecards/KPIs and executive dashboards
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, codes, standards, quality assurance and HSE requirements
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities of scope, cost, schedule and quality in a dynamic environment
