Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced specialist for a 12-month contract to lead the development and implementation of modern capital project delivery methodologies and systems for our organization. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in establishing owner’s governance, designing and optimizing processes, and selecting digital systems that enable advanced project delivery. The focus areas include 3D design, building information modeling (BIM), project and asset information management, advanced work packaging, and project controls.
- Develop, document, and implement owner’s governance frameworks for capital project delivery, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational objectives.
- Design, optimize, and standardize processes for digital project delivery, including workflows and data standards for three-dimensional design, building information modeling, information management, advanced work packaging, and project controls.
- Evaluate, recommend, and support the selection and integration of digital systems and platforms that enable modern capital project delivery, ensuring interoperability and data integrity.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project management, engineering, supply chain, construction, and information technology teams, to ensure seamless adoption and effective use of selected systems and processes.
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on the application of digital tools and methodologies throughout the project lifecycle, from planning to execution and closeout.
- Develop and deliver training, reference materials, and support resources to ensure organizational capability in digital project delivery.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators and reporting mechanisms to ensure the effectiveness of governance, data quality, processes, and systems.
- Apply industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in capital project delivery and digital transformation, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree is considered an asset.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in capital project delivery, with a strong track record in developing and implementing digital systems and methodologies for large-scale projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in three-dimensional design, building information modeling, information management, advanced work packaging, and project controls.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing owner’s governance frameworks and project delivery processes.
- Strong knowledge of digital project delivery systems and platforms, including system selection, integration, and optimization.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with experience providing training and support to diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and foster adoption of new processes and technologies in complex environments.
Professional Designations or Licenses:
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent professional designation are preferred.
- Certifications in building information modeling, information management, or project controls (such as Certified Construction Manager or AACE certifications) are considered assets.
