Job Overview
- Plan, coordinate, and execute logistics planning and execution activities for complex, multi‑discipline projects. The Logistics & Storyboard Coordinator is responsible for planning and assisting in the coordination of safe, orderly, and efficient flow of materials, equipment, cranes, and work groups through shared spaces where safety, regulatory compliance, and schedule adherence are critical.
- Develop, maintain, and actively control time‑phased logistics and spatial planning storyboards that are practical and integrate material movements, space utilization, crane and heavy‑lift operations, access routes, emergency pathways, and safety controls. Monitor execution conditions, issue logistics sequencing direction, and initiate replanning or intervention when conditions deviate from approved plans.
- Act as the central logistics coordination Subject Expert between project management, construction, operations, supply chain, and security stakeholders to ensure logistics execution remains safe, compliant, and aligned with project objectives and regulatory commitments.
- Perform this role only for a defined period within the duration of the Pickering Refurbishment as it is only applicable as a result of the Logistics challenges in the South Yard during Boiler Heavy Lifting Operations, a one-time activity in the life cycle of the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station.
- Develop and maintain practical logistics plans and visual storyboards depicting material flows, staging areas, crane positions, access routes, and work group interfaces.
- Translate project schedules, lift plans, and execution strategies into clear, time‑sequenced logistics storyboards for planning and execution.
- Provide single‑point logistics and execution‑phase coordination for all material movement, space allocation, and crane activities within the South Yard. Coordinate material handling, staging, and movement activities in support of field execution.
- Identify and resolve spatial conflicts, access constraints, and logistics interferences through proactive planning and real‑time replanning.
- Support long-range and weekly look‑aheads to support execution planning by production and continuous updating of storyboards to reflect site conditions and emergent issues.
- Ensure logistics activities and storyboard products comply with nuclear safety, ALARA, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Support lift plan readiness and execution by coordinating lift plan workflow, stakeholder reviews, and maintaining lift execution constraints and work blackout-windows.
- Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly coordination meetings to align logistics activities with project priorities and timelines.
- Coordinate Protected Area material movements, including truck arrival sequencing and throughput planning (e.g., Sally Port scheduling/arrangement of Security Pre-Screenings) aligned to critical-path priorities.
- Support Project Control Centre (PCC) execution planning, including weekly execution (e.g., 6‑shift) integration, and provide execution-phase logistics support to resolve emergent constraints.
- Communicate logistics risks, constraints, and mitigation actions to stakeholders and recommend improvements to sequencing and space utilization.
- Ensure logistics records and storyboard revisions are traceable and compliant with applicable quality and project control requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder sessions, and discussions to align stakeholders, identify and manage risk, remove barriers, and drive decision-making with respect to logistics for the South Yard
- Perform Site Walk-Downs as required and participate in Project Control Centre activities as the PCC Logistics SPOC
