Job Overview
- Design, review or modify electrical systems, including station service system, power distribution, and control systems. Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Create or modify detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings using CAD software.
- Create or modify electrical system model with EasyPower engineering software and perform load flow, short circuit and Arc Flash study.
- Perform calculations to determine electrical load, voltage drop, and other critical parameters, sizing and selection of equipment or components.
- Conduct testing and validation of electrical systems and components to ensure they meet design specifications and safety standards. Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the testing phase.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user O&M manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress.
- Work closely with other engineers, project managers, maintenance crews, operation crews, and other team members to ensure project objectives are met.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input to improve design quality and efficiency.
- Provide support during the installation and commissioning of electrical systems.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design engineering.
- Minimum 2 year of experience with AutoCAD software for electrical design
- Familiarity with electrical design standards and codes (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE, ANSI)
- Experienced in Arc Flash study using EasyPower, Etap or SKM engineering software.
Technical Skills:
- Good knowledge of a typical hydro power plant, esp. turbine and auxiliaries, generator and auxiliaries, MV/LV switchgear, LV MCC, protection, control and SCADA system
- Proficient in AutoCAD is a must
- Proficient in MS Suite is a must
- Proficient in EasyPower will be a Plus
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
