Job Overview

  • Reporting to the President & CEO, the Director of Project Management will oversee the execution of our client’s $500 million pipeline of major electrical projects. A key player on our leadership team, the Director is responsible for a large team of project managers and project controls professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of our client’s electrification portfolio throughout all project life cycle phases including front-end planning, execution and project controls
  • Apply a customer focused approach to develop and execute charging solutions on time and on budget
  • Manage a team developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Coordinate and manage internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects
  • Plan resource availability and allocation
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered safely, on-time, within budget and with quality
  • Develop detailed project management plans and reporting tools to track progress
  • Ensure compliance with commercial and project management framework
  • Implement project controls processes to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs in accordance with project management industry best practices
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Work with the Business Development team supporting new business development initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with corporate safety programs and policies and communicate safety issues/concerns
  • Develop a climate which encourages the participation and involvement of all employees to continuously improve processes and systems.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Engineering, Business or related field.
  • MBA is an asset
  • PMP is an asset
  • 10+ years of experience in construction and project management
  • Direct experience managing electrical projects involving, solar, batteries, generation, substations or electric vehicle charging
  • Technical knowledge of EV charging, battery storage and other electrical equipment as well as energy management systems.
  • Strong business acumen to develop and execute profitable projects and contribute to our client’s business strategy.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and leadership skills to motivate your team.
