Job Overview

  • The role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering assigned projects to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective execution. The individual provides oversight and direction across all phases of the work, from initial planning through to completion, while ensuring alignment with organizational standards and objectives.
  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, cost estimates, and more. Ensure work is executed in accordance with approved plans and organizational expectations.
  • Scope Management: Define and manage project scope to ensure all requirements are clearly understood, documented, and controlled. Identify and address scope changes in a timely manner to minimize impacts to cost and schedule.
  • Schedule Coordination: Coordinate activities across multiple teams to ensure work is properly sequenced and aligned. Monitor progress against milestones and take corrective actions where required.
  • Cost Management: Track project expenditures and forecasts to ensure alignment with approved budgets. Identify variances and implement mitigation strategies to control costs.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery. Develop and implement mitigation plans to reduce impacts and maintain project objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, contractors, and external partners. Ensure clear communication of expectations, progress, and challenges.
  • Contract and Vendor Coordination: Support the management of contractors and service providers to ensure work is delivered in accordance with contractual requirements, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular project updates, including status, risks, and performance metrics, to management and stakeholders. Maintain accurate and complete project documentation.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies. Promote a strong safety culture within the project team
  • Delivery of assigned projects within approved scope, schedule, and budget
  • Accuracy and completeness of project plans, forecasts, and reporting
  • Effective identification and management of risks and issues
  • Alignment and coordination across all involved teams and stakeholders
  • Adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Timely escalation of issues and implementation of corrective actions

Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • P.Eng. designation (asset).
  • PMP certification or equivalent (asset).
  • 4–10+ years of progressive project management experience.
  • Experience managing complex industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in regulated environments (nuclear, hydroelectric, utilities, or large infrastructure) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making ability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of project controls, risk management, and governance processes.
  • High degree of professionalism and accountability.
