Job Overview
We are looking for a Project Manager to support the Pickering Steam Generator Replacement project. The Project Manager will be interfacing between our client/EPC vendor and is expected to be present three times per week, either at the our client’s Pickering office and/or Pickering Site (Engineering Services Building). This is a multi-year, multi-unit project.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop project plans and coordinate with customer and internal stakeholders to deliver on technical, cost and schedule commitments.
- Be the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) with vendor, customer, ensuring contract requirements, deliverables and timelines are met.
- Identify critical risks and facilitate seamless execution by issuing recovery plans, thereby consistently meeting deadlines with tight schedule constraints.
- Monitor project cost (CPI) and schedule performance (SPI) using Earned Value Management system and tools such P6 Primavera or MS Project). Develop and report project status in concise summaries in a timely fashion.
- Manage vendor, subcontractors and negotiating complex changes concerning scope, schedule, cost and quality on a daily basis.
- Manage project risk, interpret complex contracts and resolve commercial or technical issues.
- Manage vendor performance by setting expectations. Continuously improve performance in terms of safety, quality and schedule to support project critical activities.
- Deliver regular, transparent reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or a related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in an Engineering, Procurement and Construction environment.
- Proven expertise in project planning, earned value management and budget control.
- Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal.
- Experience/ knowledge of pressure vessels and heat exchangers is an asset.
- Experience in the nuclear energy or power generation industry or oil and gas sectors is an asset.
- Must be present at Pickering work site for 3 days a week.
