Job Overview

  • As an SAP Functional Consultant – Finance at our client, this role plays a mission-critical part in the implementation and continuous optimization of SAP Finance solutions.
  • Collaboration with business stakeholders, solution architects, and technical teams ensures the translation of business requirements into effective SAP processes that align with the Strategic Transformation Roadmap (STR).
  • Expertise in SAP Finance will help drive process excellence, compliance, and business value across all finance functions.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Finance Solution Delivery

  • Leads the design, configuration, and deployment of SAP Finance modules (FI/CO, Asset Accounting, Accounts Payable/Receivable, etc.) to support business objectives.
  • Analyzes and translates business requirements into SAP-enabled solutions, ensuring robust process alignment and integration with other SAP and non-SAP systems.
  • Develops functional specifications for enhancements, reports, interfaces, conversions, and workflows.
  • Supports data migration, data validation, and reconciliation activities for finance-related objects.
  • Collaborates with technical teams on solution integration, custom developments, and troubleshooting.

Business Process Optimization & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Conducts fit-gap analysis, process mapping, and solution prototyping to optimize finance-related processes.
  • Facilitates workshops, training, and knowledge transfer sessions for end users and business process owners.
  • Ensures finance processes are compliant with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and governance standards.
  • Provides expert guidance on SAP best practices, configuration, and change management for finance operations.

Project Management & Agile Delivery

  • Works closely with project managers, scrum masters, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of finance workstreams.
  • Participates in agile ceremonies, project planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborates with architects, developers, and business analysts to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business needs.
  • Supports testing, defect resolution, and cutover planning for SAP Finance modules.

Continuous Learning & Thought Leadership

  • Stays current with SAP S/4HANA Finance innovations, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Shares insights, best practices, and lessons learned within the SAP and finance communities.
  • Demonstrates initiative and a self-driven attitude in identifying opportunities for process improvement and driving project success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in SAP Finance (FI/CO) functional consulting, including configuration, implementation, and support.
  • Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance or ECC FI/CO modules, including integration with other SAP and third-party systems.
  • Strong understanding of finance business processes (GL, AP, AR, AA, Controlling, etc.) and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience with SAP Activate methodology and agile frameworks (such as Scrum or Kanban).
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team player in cross-functional, agile project teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • SAP Finance certification(s) are highly desirable.
  • Experience with SAP Fiori, SAP Analytics, and SAP data migration tools is considered an asset.
