Job Overview

  • As a Data Architect – SAP Systems at our client, this role plays a pivotal part in designing, governing, and optimizing the data architecture across the SAP landscape.
  • Collaboration with business stakeholders, solution architects, and technical teams is key to ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and value of enterprise data.
  • Expertise in SAP data models, integration, analytics, and governance will drive data-driven decision-making and support the Strategic Transformation Roadmap (STR).

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Governance

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise data architecture for SAP systems (S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, etc.), ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Defines and governs SAP data models, master and transactional data structures, and data flows across modules and integrated systems.
  • Establishes and enforces data governance, data quality, and metadata management standards for SAP environments.
  • Collaborates with business and IT teams to define data requirements, data lineage, and data stewardship processes.
  • Oversees data migration, cleansing, harmonization, and transformation activities for SAP projects and upgrades.

Integration & Analytics

  • Architects robust, scalable, and secure data integration solutions between SAP and non-SAP systems using tools such as SAP Data Services, SLT, PI/PO, Integration Suite, and third-party middleware.
  • Enables advanced analytics and reporting by designing and optimizing SAP data warehouses (BW/4HANA), data lakes, and analytics platforms (SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP HANA, etc.).
  • Supports the implementation of real-time, batch, and event-driven data integration patterns.
  • Ensures data accessibility, consistency, and performance for business intelligence, analytics, and compliance reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement & Solution Delivery

  • Partners with business stakeholders, solution architects, developers, and data stewards to deliver data-driven solutions and insights.
  • Provides expert guidance on SAP data architecture best practices, data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Leads data architecture reviews, solution design workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Supports testing, validation, and troubleshooting of data flows, integrations, and reporting solutions.

Continuous Learning & Thought Leadership

  • Stays current with SAP data architecture innovations, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
  • Shares insights, best practices, and lessons learned within the data and SAP communities.
  • Mentors and develops internal talent, fostering a data-driven and collaborative culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data architecture, with at least 5 years specializing in SAP environments (S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, etc.).
  • Proven experience designing and implementing SAP data models, data integration, and analytics solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP data management tools (SAP Data Services, SLT, PI/PO, Integration Suite), data warehousing, and analytics platforms.
  • Experience with data governance, data quality, metadata management, and regulatory compliance in SAP environments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Recognized certifications in SAP data management, architecture (TOGAF), or data governance (DGSP, CDMP) are highly desirable.
