Job Overview

  • Lead multiple complex engineering, procurement and manufacturing projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to project management methodologies, and project framework in all project phases from initiation to closeout
  • Identify, assess and proactively mitigate project risks and issues, prepare contingency and recovery plan as needed
  • Resolve and assist with resolution of issues and problems (cost, Schedule and Quality), as necessary to ensure that project deliverables are achieved as per plan,
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, including senior management, internal team and external vendors and manage vendor relationships
  • Active management of the project progress, key milestones and provide the regular status report to stakeholders.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on cost and schedule, and manage changes, prepare and review of cost and schedule variance reports
  • Coordinating and controlling of all stages of project management in assigned projects or project packages in all project phases from initiation to closeout
  • Perform project management activities throughout the lifecycle of the projects, ensuring all project objectives and commitments are controlled and delivered within targets of safety, quality, budget and schedule.
  • Visit various site locations, manufacturers, and suppliers as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g.: Engineering, Business)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset.
  • Manufacturing and Fabrication experience is strongly preferred (NOT, Machining, Inspection, Welding)
  • Experience working within the nuclear industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of CANDU design is preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects and manage vendors
  • Period of over 8 years is considered necessary to gain this experience
