JOB DUTIES

Reporting to the Director, Category Management & Strategic Sourcing, this position is responsible to provide strategic direction, execute commercial contracting strategies, and implement a robust supplier relationship management program. The Senior Manager will be responsible for supporting the client’s Category Management across nuclear, thermal, hydro and corporate functions.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Guide and mentor a team of category leads, fostering a high-performance culture while driving professional growth and succession planning –
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the development and execution of category management strategies ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and empowering the team to drive cost efficiency, business value creation, supplier reliability, and risk mitigation across nuclear, thermal, hydro, and corporate functions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including engineering, operations, and project teams to align procurement initiatives with corporate needs
  • Ensuring consistent processes for supplier evaluation, performance monitoring and strategic engagement to drive operational excellence, financial integrity, business value creation, and environmental, social, governance
  • Ensure that all procurement activities comply with industry regulations, environmental standards, public sector procurement governance, and corporate policies

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Materials Management, Law, Finance, or related field is required;
  • Supply Chain Management Professional Certification completed or working towards (SCMP, CPSM, CSCP, CSCMP, CPCM, etc.)
  • Minimum (6) six years of progressive management experience in supply chain, category management, procurement, purchasing in leading categories, strategic sourcing, commercial contract or vendor management;
  • Proven success and track record in building and leading supply chain operations, purchasing with an emphasis on category management strategy development and execution in a complex organization with over a billion+ spend;
  • Comprehensive understanding of effective, current and emerging practices, issues, insights, tactics, and trends in strategic sourcing, inventory management, forecasting, vendor/supplier relationships, and supply chain management
  • In-depth understanding and experience managing indirect procurement, such as; transportation, real estate, information technology, HR, etc.
  • Must be able to promote a service-oriented culture that enables strong vendor/supplier relationship management while providing exceptional support and services as a true business partner to various stakeholders;
  • Strong sense of urgency and excellent business judgement. Proven ability to make decisions under pressure that have significant impacts on budgets and performance of projects and business operations;
  • People-oriented with strong interpersonal skills, adept at building and maintaining positive, productive and collaborative working relationships. Strong ability to establish confidence, credibility and cooperation with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders;
